About your local canine hydrotherapy centre

We’re a family run business based in Nottingham, East Midlands. We absolutely love dogs and our family have had dogs for generations.

We have been competing in fly ball competitions and Canine Athletics for many a year now. Which is why we learned the importance of looking after dogs, helping them to be the best they can be, just like athletes would. This first started with their diets – raw foods and supplements go a long way to helping your dog maintain a healthy outlook. The second, is making sure your dog has plenty of rehabilitation, aftercare and support to ensure their joints and body can recover optimally. As the company owner, my passion is working with dogs that have underlying issues that with the correct rehabilitation program, can live a longer, happier life.

Our hydrotherapy pool for dogs

Our hydrotherapy pool is a generous 14ft x 7ft x 5ft deep in size. It’s a lovely clean pool, installed in March 2022. The dog hydrotherapy pool has two built-in jets which are great to utilise during fitness swim sessions.

Our centre offers a wet and dry area, great for keeping the owner as dry as possible. There is also a built-in ramp that flows from the wash area all the way to the pool ramp. This is excellent for looking after those sore joints in dogs, whether they be older dogs or dogs who have suffered an injury.

The hydrotherapy pool has two different sized resting ramps which are ideal for the dog to take a break during their session. The dry area floor has specifically laid matting to ensure that wet dogs do not slip.

The team

I’m Kate Bunday, the owner of The Canine Rehab Centre. I will soon be a registered Canine Hydrotherapist as I wanted to take my knowledge of dog care to the next level, although I am able to swim dogs still without any worry. I have five years of experience in the Veterinary industry working as a receptionist in busy vets. It’s amazing how much I was able to absorb whilst in this role and it was great speaking to owners of beloved dogs. I was surrounded by likeminded people who all have a love for animals.

Speaking of animals, I have five dogs, you read that right, five dogs. I regularly compete in both Flyball and Canine Athletic contests. It’s because I’ve been doing this for so many years with my mother (who officially has the fastest singles flyball dog in the world in 2022) that we had used swimming as a form of rehabilitation after hard training. It worked brilliantly and has become a part of our dog training routines, along with raw foods and supplement diets, so I went one step further and created this business to help other like-minded dog owners.

Aside from dogs, I have recently become a mum to a beautiful little girl called Isla. She, along with my five fur babies are my motivation to own The Canine Rehab Centre.
